Craig Ronald, our Professional,
is an ardent supporter of the Tartan Tour since he turned Pro.
In 1994 Craig won his European Tour Card. His talents thereafter flourished
and, with hard work and dedication, he was deservedly rewarded with his first
major Tour success in 1996 when he won the Sunderland Masters title. His carear
continued to prosper and reached a new high when he won the Tartan Tour's Order
of Merit in 1999.
Undoubtedly, Craig's greatest achievement was winning the Scottish Professional
Golf Championship at Gleneagles, on the Centenary course, with a 25 foot birdie
putt at the second play off hole , on a memorable August day 2004. His name
is now proudly etched on the old trophy besides such names as John Panton, Brian
Barnes, Bernard Gallacher, Sam Torrance and Paul Lawrie.
Craig, when interviewed, said "I am very happy with the position I am in
at the club. I enjoy the club pro scene at Carluke" and "I've proved
that I can still compete at the top level.
Carluke Golf Club is proud to have such a successfull
talent looking after the interests of our members and the instruction of our
Juniors.
Scott Pithie, our Assistant Professional,
came through the ranks at Carluke Golf Club and achieved the ultimate success
when he won the Senior Club Championship as a Junior in Season 2005. He has
also represented Carluke playing in many tournaments and being selected for
the County team.
Scott has now decided to join the Pro ranks and will do
so under Craig Ronald here at Carluke. Craig says
"He is a welcome addition to our staff and looks forward to more success
for him in the future."
